Department of Dermatology & STD（Sexually Transmitted Disease）

The Department of Dermatology & STD of Beijing Tiantan Hospital, Capital Medical University, has a team with excellent medical skills and moral integrity, as well as a spacious and cozy environment. The department has various examination and treatment methods to solve common and rare dermatologic diseases and Sexually Transmitted Diseases （STDs）, and skin cosmetic problems.

The department is responsible for clinical work such as daily outpatient clinics, in-hospital and out-of-hospital consultations, as well as the teaching work for the medical students of the Fifth Clinical Medical School of Capital Medical University  and the Department of Stomatology, and participates in clinical research and health education..

The department currently has 12 doctors, 3 chief physicians, 1 associate chief physician, 3 attending physicians, 2 residents, 2 nurses and 1 technician . Most doctors graduated from Peking University, Peking Union Medical College, and Capital Medical University or have further training experience in Peking University and Peking Union Medical College. In the team， 6 staff have doctoral degrees and 2 staff have master's degrees.

The department is based on the diagnosis and treatment of traditional dermatologic disease, also with medical cosmetic problem, to provide patients with high-quality medical services for dermatologic disease，STD，and cosmetic problems.

Clinical aspects:

The department has unique diagnosis and treatment methods for common dermatologic diseases， such as herpes zoster, acne, folliculitis, viral warts, pruritus, neurodermatitis, psoriasis, dermatitis， eczema, atopic dermatitis, vitiligo, tinea pedis, onychomycosis, seborrheic keratosis, skintag, freckles, tinea cruris, pemphigus, alopecia areata, and some other dermatologic diseases. In addition to skin diseases, there are precise examination and treatment methods for common sexually transmitted diseases （STD）, such as condyloma acuminatum, gonorrhea, mycoplasma infection, Chlamydia trachomatis infection, syphilis， and other sexually transmitted diseases. The team has also introduced a variety of new biological agents to treat atopic dermatitis, psoriasis and other diseases.

The department routinely carries out the following treatment programs: cryotherapy for various warts, skintag，clavus, seborrheic keratosis, nodular itchy rash, chronic dermatitis eczema; CO2 laser or microwave treatment for skintag and warts; semiconductor laser and red light irradiation for infectious diseases such as herpes zoster, localized infections, and skin ulcers; red and blue light treatment for acne; and narrow-band UVB treatment for psoriasis, vitiligo, pityriasis rosea, and eczema; Localized block therapy within skin lesions to treat keloid, stubborn alopecia areata, prurigo, chronic eczema and other skin diseases.

Routine examination laboratory programs include fungal microscopy, fungal fluorescence microscopy, parasites such as Demodex folliculorum, scabies, louse, etc., gonorrhea testing, mycoplasma culture, chlamydia testing, HPV, syphilis, HIV test, inhalation and food allergens testing, patch test etc .

Fungal fluorescent staining has been newly carried out, which significantly improves the positive rate of fungal testing. Dermoscopy is also recently been introduced, which can more accurately identify common seborrheic keratoses, pigmented nevi, viral warts, hemangiomas, etc. At the same time, it can also intelligently assess the benign and malignant of pigmented nevi, which dramatically improves the accuracy of clinical diagnosis.

In addition to common dermatology diagnosis and treatment, we have also newly introduced cosmetic treatment items, such as

Accolade 755nm Q-switched Alexandrite laser，

to treat all kinds of pigmentation diseases, such as seborrheic keratosis, sun spots, freckles, nevus of Ota, café-au-lait-spot, etc.; BBL and erbium laser （Er-YAG） laser on the Profile platform of the Sciton (U.S company),  can solve the problem of acne, post-acne red scars, telangiectasia, skin redness, dark skin, pigmentation, wrinkles, aging, and atrophy scarring. Israel Freeze multi-polar radio frequency can tighten the skin，anti-aging, solve the problem of skin sagging, etc. My-jet Needle-free device can be injected with different medicine to solve skin problems such as acne and yellowish and dry skin.

Laboratory Tests and Treatment Hours.

Working days (Monday to Friday): 8:00-11:30 a.m., 13:00-16:30 p.m.

(Note: no laboratory tests and treatment, no STDs examination on Holidays, Saturday and Sunday )

Except for mycoplasma culture and patch tests, the department's tests can produce results on the same day.Mycoplasma culture is taken on Monday Tuesday，Wednesday. It takes 48 hours to get the result.

The patch test requires a follow-up visit in person 3 days later. Tests are usually done on Monday/Tuesday/Friday, with a follow-up appointment on Thursday/Friday/Monday.

Histopathology, HPV, HIV antibody test, and syphilis antibody test，inhalation and food allergens testing reporting timeframe is determined by the corresponding testing department.

Cosmetic treatments are evaluated by the doctor before scheduling the treatment method and treatment time.
