Comprehensive Oncology Center

The Comprehensive Oncology Center has established the earliest independent clinical discipline in China featuring comprehensive treatment of neurological tumors.

The team mainly treats central nervous system malignant tumors such as gliomas, medulloblastomas, germ cell tumors, lymphomas, meningiomas, and brain metastases. They carry out chemotherapy, targeted therapy, immunotherapy and other comprehensive treatments for newly diagnosed and recurrent neurological tumors, and conducting clinical trial research on innovative drugs. Meanwhile, multidisciplinary experts from the hospital's neurosurgery, radiotherapy, imaging, and pathology departments formed MDT team to provide more professional diagnosis and treatment services.

This specialty belongs to the National Clinical Key Specialty Construction Project. The center has 29 medical and nursing staff, including 12 doctors and 4 doctors with the title of deputy chief physician or above. The ward has a research ward of Tiantan Hospital, and currently undertakes nearly 30 registered clinical studies related to glioma, which is also the center that undertakes the most clinical studies on glioma in China. It has undertaken two key projects of the National 13th Five-Year Plan for the creation of new drugs, three projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and a number of provincial and ministerial scientific research projects, such as the Talent Support Project of the Beijing Municipal Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Collaborative Innovation Project.
