The Department of Infectious Diseases of Beijing Tiantan Hospital, Capital Medical University, was established in 2003. After nearly 20 years of disciplinary development, the department has gradually formed its own characteristics in the treatment of lung infections and infections of other organs. It is a specialized department in treating infectious diseases and preventing and controlling infectious diseases in our hospital. The department includes Infectious Disease Clinic, Fever Clinic, Intestinal Clinic, and Infectious Diseases Ward, with more than 20 medical and nursing staff, including 4 with senior titles, 8 with intermediate titles, and 8 with doctoral and master's degrees, providing a full range of quality services for patients with infectious diseases.

 Treatment scope:

1、 Fever of unknown origin; 

2、 Diagnosis and treatment of unusual infection;

3、 Respiratory system infections: upper respiratory tract infection, various types of pneumonia, lung abscess, bronchiectasis with infection, pleural effusion, lung infection with various comorbidity, etc.;

4、 Digestive system infections: infectious diarrhea, biliary tract infection, liver abscess and other abdominal organ infections, contagious peritonitis, etc.;

5、Genitourinary system and pelvic infections: urinary tract infections, pyelonephritis, pelvic organ infections, etc.;

6、Skin and soft tissue infections, bone and joint infections;

7、Bloodstream infections: various types of infections or abscesses with bloodstream infections, implanted devices with bloodstream infections, infective endocarditis, etc.;

8、Nosocomial infections in various departments;

9、Unusual diseases with infection, such as immune-compromised state with infection;

Departmental features:

Treatment of infectious diseases of lung and other organs, identification and treatment of patients with fever of unknown origin, multidisciplinary collaboration in the treatment of various types of abscesses, etc. Special cases treated include liver abscess, polycystic kidney with intra-cystic septic infection, bacterial endocarditis, bacterial bloodstream infection, skin and soft tissue infection such as erysipelas and cellulitis, pelvic tissue abscess, pyogenic cholangitis, lumbar spine tuberculosis with cold abscess, scrub typhus, brucellosis, etc.

Fever Clinic:

Open 24 hours a day, with well-trained professional medical and nursing staff and separate departments for radiology, testing laboratory, cashier, pharmacy, etc. Provide fast and qualified treatment services for patients with all kinds of fevers.

Infectious Diseases Clinic:

Monday to Friday morning and Friday afternoon: general clinic;

Monday to Thursday morning: specialist clinic.
