The Operating Room of Beijing Tiantan Hospital, Capital Medical University, has a vigorous nursing team. At present, there are 167 nurses, 1 head nurse and 3 head nurse in the operating

room. On average, about 40000 operations are completed every year, of which neurosurgery

accounts for about 50%. As one of the largest operating rooms in Beijing, it covers surgical

nursing, interventional nursing, day surgery nursing and endoscopic treatment nursing. There are

55 clean operating rooms, 10 catheterization rooms and 12 endoscopic treatment rooms,

including magnetic resonance operation room, composite operation room, somatosensory digital

operation room, etc. It is a surgical center with centralized management of vascular hybrid

surgery, multimodal tumor surgery, neurological intervention, respiratory and digestive

endoscopic treatment.

Under the direct leadership of the hospital leaders and the nursing department, the operating

room adheres to the purpose of "patient-centered", providing safe, high-quality and efficient

perioperative nursing for surgical patients, and providing skilled surgical nursing cooperation for

doctors. The detail nursing service was carried out from four aspects: surgical patients, family

members of patients, clinical surgeons and operating room nurses, so as to highlight the high

quality nursing service in the operating room. The implementation of flexible working hours,

rational use of human resources, ensure the continuity of the operating room, the full use of the

operating room, and shorten the waiting time of patients for surgery.

Since 2001, according to the characteristics of surgical departments and professional

development, the professional groups of skull base tumor, supratentorial tumor, infratentorial

tumor, neuroendoscopy, cerebrovascular disease, functional epilepsy, spinal cord surgery,

pediatric surgery, cardiac surgery, orthopedics, surgery, urology, obstetrics and gynecology,

ophthalmology, otolaryngology Head and neck surgery were gradually established. The ability,

expertise and experience of nurses to participate in the management of the operating room, all

the nursing staff in nursing management, quality control, infection control, training and teaching,

scientific research and other aspects of increasingly standardized, keep improving, improve the

professional quality of nurses, make the operation more smoothly, the use of instruments and

equipment more in place.

Relying on information construction, the operating room has realized the digitization of video and

audio information, the automation of logistics and transportation, the informatization of material

management, the standardization of behavior management, and the fine management of the

department. The ten goals of surgical patient safety have been effectively implemented, the

overall efficiency of the operating room has been improved, the quality of work has been

improved, the incidence of medical accidents and disputes has been reduced, and a safer medical

environment has been created for patients, which reflects the modernization, specialization and

standardization of the operating room management.

As a clinical teaching base for specialized nurses in operating room of the Chinese Nursing

Association and the Beijing Nursing Association, it receives hundreds of base students and

advanced nurses from all over the country every year, and has held a national continuing

education program for surgical cooperation courses for many years. At the same time, it

undertakes the teaching tasks of standardized training nurses and college practice nursing

students, and has formulated a complete set of teaching plans, lectures and assessment contents. In the past three years, more than 10 articles were published in the core journals of operating

room, and more than 60 utility model patents were approved. The teachers have rich experience in clinical experience, nursing theory level, scientific research training and other aspects.
