The predecessor of the department catheter surgery at Beijing Tiantan Hospital , Capital Medical University, is the Tiantan hospital’s Catheter Office. It is the earliest catheter office especially for the treatment of cerebral and spinal cord vascular disease in our country. It has successfully cured more than ten thousand cases of vascular disease of nervous system through interventional therapy. It bears the task of interventional diagnosis and treatment of all the clinical departments.
Our department is staffed by 1 doctor, 7 technicians and 8 nurses, it has three catheter areas (one of them is currently the most advanced Department of Neurosurgery Complex Operation) and 5 large advanced angiography machines. Our department is the intervention center integrated with neuro-intervention, cardiovascular intervention, peripheral blood vessel intervention and tumor intervention as a whole.
